I’ve had my website for quite a while now, but I’ve always wanted to incorporate a blog page for my more personal projects so that my portfolio page is primarily for work I’ve done for others.

It was time to update my website’s design as well as it’s functionalities. I began by making mockups for each page, I already had an idea of how I wanted the website to look but I prefer to see the design in front of me before starting to develop it.

When I was happy with how the mockups looked, I began to develop the page through WordPress. Previously my website had been created with pure HTML5 and CSS3, but to make it easier for myself in terms of uploading blog posts and portfolio items more frequently, I decided that it was time to make the move to WordPress.

I used the page builder Elementor to design the different pages according to my mockups and started to add the text and images.

When I was done designing the site, it was time to start creating the content for the portfolio and the blog posts. I wanted to present my portfolio items differently than what I had done before, so I created a template for the portfolio items.

After having created the content so the website was up to date, it was time to publish my new site. Where I now could create content for my blog as well as new portfolio items as I go along.
